The subtle frequency response just makes my guitar come alive. I still get chills hitting chords and have it sound almost exactly like the album the song comes from. You can download presets that the community created and see reviews, etc., kind of like Reddit posts. There is one more extraordinary feature I'll discuss in a moment below.īias FX is by far a better out of the box experience. I got some good David Gilmore tones this way. If you look around, you can find some folks that will let you download their tweaked setting. Every other preset sounds terrible out of the box. The closest I got was an AC/DC preset that sounded pretty good. The only real complaint is the presets require a lot of adjustments and I don't think I ever nailed a "sound". I'll start with Guitar Rig 5 because I got it first. It might be bluesy or heavy metal, so, flexibility is a key requirement. I built the guitar to have a wide range of tones (maybe not the master of one) because when I play at my computer, I don't know exactly what I might be working on. My setup is just a Partscaster/Strat guitar into a NI Komplete 6 interface into my computer and I use the ASIO that came with it as my audio adapter into each application. I picked up Guitar Rig 5 in last years Black Friday sale.
